Ever since the Pawtucket Red Sox went defunct in 2020 the focal point of Trifecta Sports has been the sport of soccer. I have been covering the world’s game in Southern New England since the summer of 2017 and have expanded my coverage from just the New England Revolution to also include the newly launched Rhode Island FC.
At its peak, the website Trifecta Sports had ten writers covering a variety of sports and teams since its launch in 2015 but ever since COVID hit the site has been just me.
Running a website sounds like fun but it entails ensuring the website remains operational which takes away from doing what I love which is covering the incredible sport of soccer.
This substack will let me focus on creating content via my written content as well as on the Revolution Recap podcast which I have been so fortunate to join as a co-host in recent months.
For many readers, the experience will not change. Many of my articles regarding news and matches will be available in front of the paywall here on Substack. What will be behind the paywall will be my analysis and thoughts on the teams as well as my trademark Revolution Notebooks (and RIFC when they launch in 2024).
The content will shift and mold with the audience as Q&A’s are certainly a long-term plan on this platform.
I encourage you to subscribe to the substack and if you are able to join as a paid subscriber for just $5 per month (or $50 per year) it would be greatly appreciated. Local soccer coverage is paramount to the success of the sport especially as Major League Soccer consolidates its stranglehold by adding complete control of the match broadcasts via the Apple TV deal.
To kick off our coverage on SubStack we will be offering a 30-day free trial leading into the New England Revolution preseason. Sign up before February 1st to claim this one-time offer.
Thanks to everyone who will subscribe and please share the substack with your friends via the referral program.
